Individual Counseling

We provide individual counseling for children, teens and adults who may be experiencing, anxiety, depression or having difficulty adjusting to a new situation in life.  

At the Garnet Oak, we seek to create a safe place for you to share your thoughts and emotions. 

Group Counseling

The Garnet Oak provides groups for teens and young adults to teach critical life skills such as time management and living on their own for the first time. 

The Garnet Oak also provides  groups for caregivers of individuals with special needs. Topics include Chronic Sorrow, Caregiver Burnout, and ways to advocate for your loved one. 

Premarital Counseling

Let the Garnet Oak walk you through the topics of the Prepare-Enrich Assessment to help you  identify issues that need a conversation before you get married. 

Topics include finances, differences in family of origin, establishing personal, couple and family goals, understanding and appreciating personality differences.

What Can I Expect with a Virtual Session?

  • Counselors are in a private and secure office, just as they would be for a traditional, in-person session.
  • Counseling intake forms are completed using our online portal to make the process as easy as possible.
  • Consent is discussed to ensure you fully understand the services and limitations.
  • Sessions are not recorded.

Cassandra McClain MA, LPC

I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Columbia International University. The state of South Carolina licenses me as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My license Number is 7320. I am also a certified Prepared-Enrich Facilitator for Premarital Counseling.

I have experience working with children, teens and​ adults. I especially enjoy working with the parents, caregivers and families of individuals with special needs.
